President Li Denghui And President Ma Ying-Jeou Reunify The Two Sides.

(Taipei) Li Denghui, former president of Taiwan, received an exclusive interview with Japanese media, pointing out that after the election of President Ma Ying-Jeou, cross-strait relations will not rush towards the direction of "unification" or "common market".

When he mentioned the DPP, he thought he was excellent, but he was saddled with the heavy burden of Chen Shuibian in office for eight years.

In Japan, the production news published an exclusive interview with Li Denghui on the front page headline.

Li Denghui said that many people are afraid that Ma Ying-Jeou's election to Taiwan will be unified at once.

"Taiwan can not be easily taken away by the Chinese mainland, because the Chinese Communist Party does not support Ma Ying-Jeou from the heart. One of the reasons is that the relationship between Ma Ying-Jeou and the United States is too complicated."

He said, "I should not talk too much about my position, but I think he is very influenced by the United States."

Li Denghui said that he had been the chairman of the Kuomintang for about twelve years, that is, to promote democratization with one party independence. Just like today's legislature, if the Kuomintang's seats were not more than 3/4, it could not promote democratization.

He said that the Kuomintang should not be regarded as anti democratic. However, the Kuomintang, with absolute majority power, must do something in order not to go to dictatorship and to live up to the expectations of the people.

For Ma Ying-Jeou's evaluation, Li Denghui said, "his strength is integrity.

Some people say he is corrupt, but I don't believe that.

He is tall and solitary, but also has modern thinking.

His father always wanted to train him to become president, so he applied strict education.

However, he is also "Chinese" (provincial) and I am not sure whether he can be selfless.

Li Denghui said: "twenty years later, Taiwan's efforts to look at the new president can be greatly changed.

What should I do in this presidency? Taiwan can leap. I am also thinking about this issue. "

The report said Ma Ying-Jeou had taken a tough stance towards Japan's ownership of Diaoyutai.

But Li Denghui believes that when Ma Ying-Jeou becomes President, he should be modest about Japanese relations, because Taiwan needs more high technology than mainland China, and Taiwan's economy needs to be helped by Japan's technology.

Reported that Li Denghui is still regarded as "Taiwan independence faction", his speech may lead to a rebound inside and outside Taiwan.
