As in previous years, the Association released the latest OEKO-TEX Standard Standard 100 testing standards for hazardous substances in textiles.

Limited value

The requirement came into force in January 1, 2012 and the new requirements were implemented in April 1st.

The reassessment of test parameters is based on the current market and product development, and the discovery of new toxic substances and new products.

statute

The requirements were also taken into account in the requirements of the REACH regulations, including the harmful substances related to textile production which had been added to the list of substances of high concern by REACH in 2011.

The OEKO-TEX update is updated as follows:

According to the current version of the REACH list of candidate substances and the current consensus, wet spinning fibers and coatings will detect N- methyl pyrrolidone and two methyl acetamide.

The two chemical substances are listed under the new project of "solvent residues", and the limit value should not exceed 0.1% of the weight ratio.

In addition, four new types of samples should be tested.

Plasticizer

Two C6-8 branched alkyl ester of ortho benzene two formic acid, two C7-11 branched alkyl ester of o-phenyl two formic acid, two hexyl two carboxylate, two phenyl methacrylate.

These will be incorporated into the existing phthalate two formate project.

The total limit requirement will remain unchanged, 0.1% of the weight ratio.

Similar to the prohibition requirements for APEO in the field certification framework of OEKO-TEX Standard APEO 1000, NP, NPEOs (1-9), OP, OPEOs (1-2) will also be included in OEKO-TEX OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification requirements.

The following limits apply to all four product levels:

NP: 100 ppm

OP: 100 ppm

NPEO (1-9) s: 1000 ppm

OPEO (1-2) s: 1000 ppm

The test started from the new standard.

In order to allow enterprises to adjust production in sufficient time, allowing production enterprises to have a pitional period of adjustment, the exact effective date is April 1, 2013.

This is not applicable to the OEKO-TEX Standard 1000 certification enterprise because it has met the required standard.

For the leather products with grade IV, the limit of extractable chromium is 10 mg/kg.

It is different from the usual CR limit requirement for textiles obtained according to the best technology available in the market.

Such leather products are not toxic to humans when they are used as required.

The new requirements of Oeko-Tex Standard Standard 100 and the latest application forms can be downloaded online.

In addition to the new test parameters, the quality surveillance ratio of OEKO-TEX certified products worldwide will be expanded to 20% of the certificated products throughout the year. The minimum monitoring ratio is 15%.

In recent years, an average of 18% percentage of certified products have been bought back from shops for testing and monitoring, all of which are borne by the OEKO-TEX international environmental textile association.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is now accreditation for special products such as tents, baby carriages, office chairs or backpacks.
