Mexico

As of December 17th, Mexico Customs was still levying anti-dumping duties on Chinese products, involving 972 tax numbers for 16 categories of products.

According to Mr. Alfredo, executive vice president of the Mexico customs Association, importers still have to pay high anti-dumping duties on these products.

In December 7th, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico abolished the anti-dumping duty on a pharmaceutical product (the tax number was 29349901) and took effect from October. If the importer had already paid anti-dumping duty on the above products, he could apply for tax refund to the customs.

According to our original statistics, there are 17 types of more than 1300 tax numbers which have antidumping duties. The Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico has released all the products for sunset review before the expiry of December 11th. These products include bicycles, toys, textiles, locks, chemical products, footwear, tools, machinery and electrical products, lighters, pencils, fittings, candles and other products.

In addition, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico will send a working group headed by the Vice Minister of industry and trade to hold talks on postponing talks with Chinese counterparts on 17-18 December.
