Chinese designers lack support


Queen: you've been in China for four years. What's the most fashionable city in China?


Zora: every city has its own style and characteristics. In a word, I think Shanghai is the most fashionable.


Queen: compared with the design majors in Paris, what do you think are the disadvantages and advantages of Chinese students?


Zora: it's hard to answer, because I always feel that the students all over the world are the same. However, foreign design majors may have broader horizons, while Chinese students are less likely to engage in international fashion. However, it is their advantage that Chinese students work harder and face more challenges.


Queen: what do you think is the most shortage of Chinese designers compared with European designers?


Zora: Chinese designers lack support and external force to promote them internationally. As a judge of fashion week in Beijing, I saw many works of Chinese designers are good, and the overall level is also improving. I remember a Chinese designer privately told me that because of limited financial resources and lack of relevant support, he wanted to further develop it very difficult. Therefore, I think the Chinese government, industry and corresponding organizations should be more effective in promoting the development of Chinese design. Designers can not exist independently. They need a better environment for survival and development.


Queen: you have been the judge of fashion week in Beijing. What do you think is the problem in Beijing fashion week?


Zora: we should work harder in creativity. Although many shows are very beautiful, the whole fashion week still gives me a sense of commercial taste, which is somewhat like a commodity booth.


Queen: it is said that you like Beijing 798 very much, but now there are many voices that 798 is far away from the original art. What do you think?


Zora: there are a lot of brand concept stores entering 798 now, so that the business atmosphere there is more and more concentrated. If this continues, the artist's departure is inevitable. I think 798 should keep the original intention of art.
