According to the French Tribune (www.latribune.fr), consumption in France was low in January, and the consumption in the consumer market decreased by 1.2% in January this year, following a 2.1% increase in consumption in December last year.

This decline was caused by the rapid growth of consumption in France last year.

In particular, manufactured goods accounted for 2.2% of the total consumption of France in the whole year of 1/42007, a year-round increase of 6.2% in 2006, and a total increase of 6.2% in long-term consumables. Under this condition, vehicle consumption increased by 1.9%, household equipment (household appliances, furniture, etc.) increased by 10.2%, and other manufactured products increased by 0.4% in January.

In January this year, most of the product consumption decreased, but the textile leather products increased by 2.3%, mainly due to the discount of most textiles in January and the increase in household equipment consumption by 0.8%. However, other products such as long-term consumables fell by 3.9%, of which 8.7% of the vehicle sales fell, resulting in a decrease of 1.2% in overall consumption in January compared with December last year.
