Orton OJSC (Kemerovo) and Plastik OJSC (located in Uzlovaya, Tula area) of SIBUR holding industry's two subsidiaries signed two acquisition contracts for equipment acquisition, which are the two sets of equipment for producing geosynthetics.

Italian company O.R.V.Manufacturing S.p.A will provide two non manufacturing polypropylene production lines with a total production capacity of up to 20000 TPA.

China Shunde Plastic Machinery Co., Ltd. (SHUNDE PLASTIC MACHINE) will provide two polypropylene geotechnical network production lines, with a total production capacity of 3000 TPA.

The two subsidiary companies of SIBUR will increase their annual production capacity to 10000 tons of non-woven fabrics and 1500 tons of geotechnical networks.

The contract also includes engineering matching and staff training services.

The new plant is scheduled to start in Orton in the summer of 2009 and start in Plastik in the autumn of 2009.

By 2010, the two production lines will reach design and production capacity.

The future goal of SIBUR is to meet Russia's 20% demand for geosynthetic raw materials.

Geosynthetic materials are applied to roads, railways, mining, pipeline laying and reconstruction.

The high elasticity and strength of non-woven fabrics and geotextiles help to enhance the supporting force of the road surface, ensure the dispersion of pressure and improve the drainage capacity.

In 2007, Russia produced about 35000 tons of non-woven polypropylene and about 1500 tons of geotechnical network, compared with 68000 tons and 16000 tons of domestic demand respectively.

SIBUR geotextile plant in Surgut is currently capable of producing 3000 tons of non-woven materials.

Since 2007, plastics and organic synthesis plants in SIBUR have been developing plastics processing as an independent business.

In addition to the production of geosynthetics, SIBUR also actively expanded plastic demand through two major projects.

SUBUR also plans to build a technology park near the caprolactam factory in Nizhniy Novgorod area to build a technology park for processing PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene to produce the final products required by construction industry, real estate and utilities.

SIBUR will provide leased premises to small and medium enterprises, produce infrastructure and ensure the supply of materials.

Local governments will strive to improve pport infrastructure.
