In July 31st, the Japanese Textile Industry Federation held a standing committee, summed up the first half of 2008 and determined the work plan for the second half of the year.

Maeda Yukinosuke, President of the alliance, stressed that 2008 is the first year of the implementation of the new textile industry vision plan. It is necessary to lay a solid foundation for the development of the textile industry through the joint efforts of industry and commerce.

The Standing Committee has decided that the main task of the second half of 2008 is to "adjust the structure of the textile industry". Enterprises should seriously study the development strategy of enterprises in the context of globalization and adjust the structure of their business.

As the leader of the trade association, the textile industry alliance will continue to support supply chain management to promote the work of the Committee and promote the adjustment of the circulation structure.

It is reported that the main tasks of the textile industry alliance in the second half of the year include 3 aspects: first, the development of new materials, new products and new technologies; two, the strengthening of information dissemination and brand influence; and three, the joint expansion of trade scale between the industrial and commercial sectors.

On the development of new materials, new products and new technologies, the Standing Committee stressed that development should not stay at the enterprise level, but should increase the speed and quality of research and development through various forms of exchanges and cooperation.

At the same time, the alliance will fully support the construction of textile industrial clusters and win the support of the government.

To enhance information dissemination and brand influence, the alliance continues to use the Japanese fashion week as an important platform, and appeals to the industry to unite to improve the visibility and influence of Japanese textiles in the world.

In terms of enlarging trade scale, the textile industry alliance has been assisting the government in conducting negotiations on free trade agreements (FTA) and economic cooperation agreements (EPA) with other countries. In the future, the textile industry will further expand its market and expand the export of Japanese textiles under the framework of economic cooperation agreement.

On the Standing Committee, the heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of economic and trade province introduced the problems of textile safety and the treatment of foreign laborers, and the members discussed actively.

In addition, the Standing Committee also introduced the activities of international cooperation. In November 14th this year, the twenty-second annual conference of Japan and Korea textile industry federation will be held in South Korea. In the second half of next year, the fourth China Japan Summit Forum on textile industry development and cooperation is also planned.
