Bangladesh's Textile Exports Are Expected To Reach US $25 Billion In 2013.

On Wednesday, the head of a large business organization said that in the next five years, Bangladesh's textile exports will expand two times to 25 billion US dollars, and the export of China and India will be reduced due to currency appreciation.

Since the mid 2007, Taka has maintained about 68.5 Tucca dollars in the US dollar.

But in the same period China's RMB appreciated by 8.6%, and India rupee appreciated by more than 2%.

The currencies of China and India will continue to appreciate, and their export prices to other countries will therefore increase.

Anwarul Alam Chowdhury Parvez, President of the Bangladesh garment and Export Enterprises Association (BGMEA), said that China and India are two major competitors in Bangladesh, and Bangladesh has proved capable of defeating them.

Bangladesh has received large orders from buyers and is confident of rapid export growth.

Bangladesh knitted cotton pants (main export products) sold for the first time in the United States in January this year for the first time.

Taka prices are lower, while the prices of Bangladesh products are cheaper in China and India.

From 2007 to 2008 (July to June), Bangladesh's ready-made clothing exports will reach US $11 billion, compared with us $9 billion last year.

But the Bangladesh textile industry is facing a series of problems, including image problems in the domestic and foreign markets, lack of skilled workers, social problems and weak infrastructure.

Bangladesh is listed as one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Parvez said that many areas of clothing industry have been improved, including the use of child labor, the welfare of workers and the improvement of sanitation.

He said, "now we are proud that clothing companies no longer employ child labor, but we also need to solve many social problems and new problems.

He said that the garment industry will increase 1 million 400 thousand workers in the next five years, the total number will reach 3 million 600 thousand, of which more than 80% are women workers.

The total export target of Bangladesh 2007/08 fiscal year is 14 billion 500 million US dollars, up 19% from last year.
