Textile Industry Will Face Serious Crisis Without Pformation.

In fact, the appreciation of the renminbi is only a fuse for China's textile and apparel industry, and many small and medium enterprises in the textile industry have long been relying on OEM production to earn cheap processing fees.

Experts believe that China's textile and garment industry has reached the stage of non pformation.

In the interview, reporters found that in Guangdong, most of the textile and garment enterprises that had been closed down or were struggling to survive were relatively small. Most of them were producing clothes for foreign companies, and did not have their own brands. The profit model was also very simple. That is, the cheap labor force was originally used to get foreign orders. Therefore, when the labor cost is rising and is no longer a competitive advantage, many enterprises only have to close their businesses and shut down.

Sun Huaibin, a spokesman for the China Textile Industry Association, said: "no brand is only a foundry, so its selling price is not going to go, so the cost can not get some compensation in the sale of its products. This kind of enterprise is often more difficult."

In fact, the current difficulties faced by China's textile and garment industry have also appeared in Japan.

In the 70s of last century, Japanese clothing enterprises also relied on low price to win the market. In 1985, the yen had a large appreciation, plus the new garment processing industry in Japan.

But they made timely adjustments to develop local brands and high-end products as a new direction of development.

China is currently the world's largest exporter of clothing, but the export of clothing with its own brand is still less than 1%. There are hundreds of thousands of registered trademarks of clothing in China, but it is hard to have an internationally famous brand.

Sun Huaibin, spokesman of the China Textile Industry Association, said: "the garment industry must be pformed. If it does not pform the whole industry, it will be faced with a serious crisis. We must make the product go up and add value to the brand.

We can not rely on cost in the past to rely on quantity. We also call on the government to attach great importance to it, and export tax rebate and other policies should be properly adjusted to help enterprises overcome this difficulty.
